The operational triggers

Three structural pressures shaping Qatar operations today.

01 / Corporate Tax

Qatar CIT, Law 24 of 2018

10% on non-Qatari entities. Chart of accounts and fiscal year configured so the CIT return is a query, not a reconstruction.

02 / WPS Payroll

Wage Protection System

ERPNext payroll exports the WPS SIF file ready for the Qatar Central Bank portal every cycle.

03 / Gulf Growth

Multi-entity, multi-currency

QAR base, USD and EUR transactional. Mainland and QFC entities in the same ledger with clean separation.

What we build for Qatar operators

One configured system. CIT, WPS, QFC, Gulf operations.

01 / Accounts

CIT-ready CoA

Chart of accounts and fiscal year set up for the 10% CIT return your tax advisor files with the General Tax Authority.

02 / Payroll

WPS payroll export

Salary components, employee bank details, and pay periods produce the WPS SIF file every run.

03 / Entities

Mainland + QFC

Multi-company configuration. Separate names, currencies, and CoA. Consolidated reporting from the same ledger.

04 / Currency

QAR, USD, EUR

QAR base. USD and EUR transactional with exchange management. Multi-currency AR, AP, and bank reconciliation native.

05 / VAT

Zero-rate VAT template

Qatar has not implemented VAT as of 2026. Tax templates exist at zero rate so future changes are a rate update, not a rebuild.

06 / Branches

Gulf multi-branch

Doha, KSA, UAE, international. Branch cost centres and intercompany rules with clean entity separation.

Questions from Qatar operators

What we hear most from CFOs and Finance Managers in Qatar.

Qatar has not implemented VAT as of 2026. The GCC VAT framework exists but Qatar has not enforced it domestically. ERPNext can be configured with a zero-rate tax template to accommodate future VAT implementation if it is introduced.
Qatar CIT at 10% applies to non-Qatari entities. ERPNext produces the financial data (P&L, general ledger) your tax advisor uses to compute and file the CIT return with the General Tax Authority. We configure the chart of accounts and fiscal year correctly.
QFC entities are incorporated under QFC rules, separate from mainland law. From an ERPNext perspective, a QFC entity is configured as a company with its own legal name, currency, and chart of accounts. If you have both a QFC entity and a mainland entity, ERPNext multi-company handles both.
ERPNext payroll can be configured to produce a data export matching the WPS SIF (Salary Information File) format. Direct WPS portal integration is not native — the export is a file you upload to the Qatar Central Bank WPS portal.
Yes. Qatar Standard Time (AST, UTC+3) is accommodated in all session scheduling. All project documentation is async and written.
